Outfitters

There are six rafting outfitters permitted by the National Forest Service to run the Merced River. They offer trips in April, May, and June, depending on flows. Water levels are unpredictable in the spring and there are different routes through the rapids at each level. It’s important to go with someone who knows the river well and can guide you safely down the river. Commercial rafting companies will provide you with a shuttle, rafting gear, high quality equipment, experienced guides, and a fun, relaxing, day on the river.

Rafting in Yosemite National Park

You can rent a raft and float through Yosemite, however there are no rapids. The Merced is the whitewater run closest to the park.
